MUMBAI – Adani Enterprises Ltd. posted a sharp on-year rise in its net profit for the December quarter but only due to the one-time income from the sale of its stake in AWL Agri Business Ltd., formerly known as Adani Wilmar Ltd. Excluding this one-time income, Adani Enterprises made a net loss for the reporting quarter.

The company's consolidated net profit for the December quarter was INR 56.27 billion, including a one-time income of INR 56.32 billion from the AWL Agri stake sale. The revenue from intergrated resources management was INR 69.62 billion, down over 22% on year but up nearly 5% on quarter. The segment comprises over 28% of the company's consolidated revenue. Low volume and prices led to the decline in revenue for this segment, the company said.

Revenue from commercial mining was INR 16.45 billion for the December quarter, down nearly 10% on year but up nearly 4% on quarter. Road segment revenue was INR 13.20 billion, down over 30% on year and nearly 21% on quarter. The consolidated net profit of the company for the nine months to December was INR 95.60 billion, up nearly 194% on year. Excluding the one-time income from the stake sale, the net profit for the nine months was INR 3.44 billion. The consolidated revenue for the same period fell to INR 680.29 billion, down over 4% on year.
