Eicher Motors Jan CV sales rise 25% YoY to 10,601 units

MUMBAI – Eicher Motors Ltd. Sunday said the company sold 10,601 commercial vehicles to dealerships in India and overseas in January, up 25% on year. This includes sales of Eicher-branded trucks and buses and Volvo-branded commercial vehicles.

 

The company also sells commercial vehicles under its joint venture VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. It sold 10,430 Eicher-branded trucks and buses in January, up 25% on year. This includes 9,729 commercial vehicles sold in India, up 24% on year, and 701 vehicles sold abroad, up 56%. 

 

In India, sales of its small commercial vehicles and light- and medium-duty trucks with a payload capacity of less than 18.5 tonnes grew 43% on year to 5,401 units. Sales of its heavy-duty trucks increased 34% on year to 2,680 units in January. 

 

The company sold 171 Volvo-branded trucks and buses in January, up 2.4% on year. The Sweden-based Volvo Group partners Eicher Motors in the joint venture.

 

In Apr-Jan, the company sold 80,198 units in India and overseas, up 15% on year. Domestic sales in the period grew 13% on year to 72,176 units.

 

The company had, on a consolidated basis, reported a net profit of INR 13.69 billion for the September quarter, up over 24% on year, on a revenue of INR 61.72 billion, up 45% on year. Sunday, shares of the company ended 3.3% lower at INR 6,889.50 on the National Stock Exchange.   End
