NEW DELHI – India's foreign exchange reserves rose to an all-time high of $709.41 billion in the week ended Jan. 23, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India Friday. Foreign exchange reserves rose $8.05 billion in the reporting week, up for the third consecutive week. 

 

Foreign currency assets rose $2.37 billion on week to $562.89 billion as of Jan. 23. The value of the central bank's gold holdings rose $5.64 billion on week to $123.09 billion as of Jan. 23. 

 

Calculated in dollar terms, the RBI's foreign exchange reserves also reflect the impact of appreciation or depreciation of currencies other than the dollar, such as the euro, the pound sterling, and the yen, held by the central bank.  End
