HYDERABAD - Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu on Wednesday said the agreement between the Adani Group and Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer is expected to see good progress in the next two years.

Speaking on the sidelines of the bi-annual aviation industry event Wings-India 2026, the minister said the Brazilian president is expected to visit India next month, where he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and declare the timelines of this deal.

He said India and Brazil have strong bilateral relations and this deal is a significant milestone for the two countries.

On Tuesday, the Adani Group's Adani Defence and Aerospace Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding with Embraer to develop an integrated regional transport aircraft manufacturing facility in India. The deal gives scope for aircraft manufacturing, including a final assembly line along with aftermarket services and pilot training.

Naidu, quoting the International Monetary Fund, said the Indian economy is expected to grow at 7% for the next 10-15 years and is a bright spot for investment for global investors. Given the current uncertainties, India is the best place to invest in manufacturing. The aviation manufacturing ecosystem is one of the areas the government is focused on, he said.

The India-European Union free trade agreement is one of the complicated deals that the country has cracked, which is revolving around developing the manufacturing ecosystem in the country.  End
