MUMBAI – DCB Bank reported a double-digit on-year rise in its net profit for the December quarter, mainly on the back of a strong growth in other income. A steady rise in net interest income also supported the bottom line. 

 

The net profit for the December quarter was INR 1.85 billion, up nearly 22% on year and nearly 1% sequentially. Analysts had estimated the private sector bank's net profit for the reporting quarter to be INR 1.87 billion. 

 

The net interest income of the bank for the December quarter was INR 6.25 billion, up 15% on year and nearly 5% quarter-on-quarter. 

 

 

DCB Bank's total expenditure for the reporting quarter was INR 17.59 billion, up 11% from the year-ago quarter. The bank incurred an incremental cost of INR 268.7 million on account of implementing the new labour codes. The total income of the bank for the reporting quarter was INR 20.82 billion, up over 12% on year and nearly 4% sequentially. 

 

The bank's net advances grew over 18% on year to INR 566 billion, while deposits grew nearly 20% to INR 677.54 billion on year. Its provisions grew to INR 741 million, up over 10% on year and over 22% sequentially. The bank's provision coverage ratio was 75.35% at the end of the December quarter, down from 76.76% in the trailing quarter.

 

DCB Bank reported an improvement in its asset quality for the December quarter. The gross non-performing assets ratio improved to 2.72% from 2.91% in the trailing quarter. The net NPA ratio improved to 1.10% from 1.21% from the September quarter.


The bank's current account savings account ratio was 22.77% as of Dec. 31, 2025, down from 23.52% in the trailing quarter. The net profit for the nine months to December was INR 5.26 billion, up 20% from a year ago. The total income for Apr-Dec was INR 61.41 billion, up nearly 17% from a year ago. The bank's capital adequacy was at 15.84% as on Dec. 31, 2025.  

 

Shares of the bank closed at INR 182.90, down over 3% on the National Stock Exchange before the bank detailed its earnings.  End
