MUMBAI – UTI Asset Management Co. Wednesday reported a year-on-year fall in its net profit for the December quarter, missing analysts' estimates. However, the total revenue from operations of the company rose year-on-year. 


UTI Asset Management Co.'s standalone net profit for the December quarter was INR 1.24 billion, down 13% on year and 26% on quarter. Analysts had estimated the net profit at INR 1.43 billion. The company's total revenue from operations rose 29% on year and over 8% on quarter to INR 4.23 billion. 

 

The asset management company's employee benefit expenses rose nearly 13% on year to INR 991.9 million in the December quarter. Sequentially, employee benefit expenses were down nearly 27%. Total expenses of the company rose nearly 10% on year but fell over 20% on quarter to INR 1.57 billion.

 

For Apr-Dec, the company's revenue rose over 10% on year to INR 12.50 billion, but its net profit fell over 4% on year to INR 5.06 billion. The total group assets under management of the company rose over 11% on year and over 3% on quarter to INR 23.15 trillion. UTI Mutual Fund's quarterly average assets under management rose nearly 12% on year and 4% on quarter to INR 3.94 tillion as of Dec. 31.

 

Wednesday, shares of the company closed nearly 4% lower at INR 1,034.30 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
