Indian cos' FDI in overseas JVs, arms rises 73% MoM in Dec to $3.75 bln

MUMBAI – Foreign direct investment by Indian companies in their overseas joint ventures and subsidiaries rose 73.4% on month to $3.75 billion in December, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India Friday. Outward foreign direct investment by Indian companies was $2.16 billion in November, revised upward from the provisional figure, and $4.56 billion in December 2024.

 

Of the total overseas investments in December, companies invested $1.88 billion as equity, significantly higher than $1.06 billion invested in the previous month. Companies committed $524.09 million in loans in December against $295.50 million in November.

 

Companies also invested $1.35 billion through guarantees to their overseas arms and joint ventures in December, higher than $812.57 million a month ago. The data, based on online reporting by authorised dealer banks, is provisional and subject to change, the RBI said.  End
