--LIC sells 2.01% stake in ICICI Bank via "market sale"
NEW DELHI – Life Insurance Corp. of India offloaded 127.03 million shares, equivalent to 2.01% stake in ICICI Bank Ltd., through a market sale, cutting its stake in the private lender to 4.731% from 6.737%, the insurer informed exchanges.
The state-owned insurer has reduced its shareholding in ICICI Bank to below 5%. Before the sale, LIC held 465.12 million shares of ICICI Bank but after the partial stake sale, its holding in the bank stands at 338.09 million shares.
LIC said that it does not belong to the promoter or promoter group of ICICI Bank, according to the filing. At 1149 IST, shares of the LIC traded flat at INR 827.30 on the National Stock Exchange, while those of ICICI Bank were down 0.4% at INR 1,416.60. End
