NEW DELHI – Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. Tuesday launched an updated version of its Tata Punch. Introductory prices for the facelift of the crossover, which was first launched in October 2021, will start at INR 559,000 and go up to INR 1.05 million ex-showroom, New Delhi, the company said in a press release. The new facelift of 'sub-compact sport utility vehicle' has been accorded a 5-star safety rating by Bharat New Car Assessment Program, or BNCAP. 

The new Tata Punch will come equipped with a 1.2 litre turbocharged iTurbo Revotron engine, and some variants will also be available with a twin-cylinder iCNG (compressed natural gas) paired with an automated manual transmission (AMT) gearbox. "With the new Punch, we've redefined what an SUV in this segment can be – shaped by customer insights and engineered with new age technology at its core," said Tata Motors PV's managing director and chief executive officer Shailesh Chandra.

For the September quarter, the company had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 761.70 billion on revenues of INR 723.49 billion. The company had recorded a one-time gain of INR 826 billion following the demerger of its commercial vehicle operations. Tuesday, its shares closed 0.2% lower on the National Stock Exchange at INR 349.75.  End
