MUMBAI – The National Stock Exchange Monday notified that Thursday will be a trading holiday for capital market segment and futures and options segment on account of Municipal corporation elections in Maharashtra. The commodity derivatives exchange will also be shut on Thursday for the same, according to a NSE circular.
The NSE had Friday declared a trading holiday for debt instruments. The Maharashtra government had on Tuesday notified Thursday as a public holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act to conduct local body elections.
These elections will be held on Thursday in 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra, including the Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburban districts under the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corp. End
