KOLKATA - JSW Steel Ltd. Friday said its consolidated crude steel production for the December quarter rose 6% on year to 7.48 million tonnes. Its domestic plants produced 7.28 million tonnes of steel during the quarter, up nearly 7% on year. 

The company's domestic capacity utilisation for the December quarter, including the blast furnace 3 output from Vijayanagar plant was 85%, and excluding this plant, it was 93%. The blast furnace 3 at Vijayanagar is under shutdown for upgradation of capacity from September-end and is expected to be commissioned by end of March, the company said in a statement.

JSW Steel USA's Ohio unit produced 200,000 tonnes of crude steel in Oct-Dec, largely unchanged from the same quarter a year ago.

During the nine months ended December, the company's total crude steel production was 22.65 million tonnes, up 12% on year.

For the September quarter, JSW Steel reported a consolidated net profit of INR 16.23 billion on a revenue of INR 451.52 billion. At 1001 IST, shares of the company were trading flat at INR 1,156.50 National Stock Exchange.  End
