Govt extends anti-dumping duty on normal butanol imports from US, EU by 3 mos

NEW DELHI – The government has extended the anti-dumping duty on import of normal butanol or n-butyl alcohol from the US, European Union, Malaysia, Singapore, and South Africa till Jul. 12, the finance ministry said in a notification late Thursday.
The government had in April 2021 imposed an anti-dumping duty of $24.16-$149.31 per tonne on the import of normal butanol originating in or exported from US, European Union, Malaysia, Singapore, and South Africa for five years.
Normal butanol is used in industries such as rubber chemicals, paints, drugs, polishes, cleaners, and textiles among others. End
