AHMEDABAD – Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. Monday said it handled port cargo volume of 41.9 million tonnes in December, up 9% on year. This growth was led by an 18% on-year increase in container volume, Adani Ports said in an exchange filing. In Apr-Dec, its port cargo volume rose 11% on year to 367.3 million tonnes, driven by a 21% on-year rise in container volume.
Logistics rail volume remained flat on year at 59,037 twenty-foot equivalent units, while general purpose wagon investment scheme volume fell 7% on year to 1.8 million tonnes in December. For Apr-Dec, logistics rail volumes rose 11% on year to 528,872 twenty-foot equivalent units. General purpose wagon investment scheme volumes were flat on year at 16.1 million tonnes during the same period.
Adani Port reported consolidated net profit of INR 31.09 billion for the September quarter on revenue of INR 91.67 billion. Monday, shares of the company closed 0.2% higher at INR 1,493 on the National Stock Exchange. End
