IMD forecasts hailstorm in some parts of Meghalaya on Saturday

MUMBAI – The India Meteorological Department has forecast hailstorm activity in some parts of Meghalaya on Saturday. Parts of Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad are likely to get rainfall and snowfall on Monday and Tuesday and similar weather is seen in parts of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, the department said.
The weather bureau also expects dense fog conditions to prevail during night and morning hours at some places of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh till Wednesday, over west Uttar Pradesh till Monday, and in east Uttar Pradesh till Thursday. In east Rajasthan, dense fog conditions are likely till Sunday and over Odisha till Tuesday, IMD said.
Dense fog conditions are also likely during night and morning hours in pockets of Jammu division, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and sub Himalayan west Bengal till Sunday. Similar weather is likely over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till Thursday. In Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, west Uttar Pradesh dense fog is expected from Sunday to Jan 10 and over over Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh dense fog is seen till Monday.
Madhya Pradesh is expected to see dense fog conditions till Wednesday. Similar weather is seen over Bihar till Friday and Odisha on Wednesday and Thursday, the weather department said.
The department has also forecast cold wave conditions in parts of Uttarakhand till Sunday, over Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan on Saturday and over Bihar till Monday. Parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi are also likely to experience cold wave conditions till Wednesday and parts of Rajasthan will experience similar weather during Sunday to Thursday, the department said.
