NEW DELHI - The government has extended the anti-dumping duty on the import of flexible slabstock polyol from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates till Jun. 17, the finance ministry said in a notification late Friday.

The government had in April 2021 imposed an anti-dumping duty of $101.81-$235.02 per tonne on the import of flexible slabstock polyol of molecular weight 3,000-4,000 originating in or exported from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for a period of five years.

Flexible slabstock polyol is a polyether that yields polyurethane foams on reaction with catalysts and additives. Polyurethane foams are used in packaging, mattresses, pillows, bolsters, and transport seating.

The decision to extend the duty comes after the Directorate General of Trade Remedies carried out a sunset review investigation from March.  End
