NEW DELHI – Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. sold 217,854 vehicles in December to end the calendar year 2025 with record-high sales of 2,351,139 units, the company said in a press release Thursday. In 2025, the company also recorded its highest-ever exports at 395,648 units.
The auto major's sales in December grew 22% on year, the data showed. This was helped by all-time high sales of 182,165 units in the domestic market, up over 37% on year. Including sales to other original equipment manufacturers in December, which grew almost 20% on year to 9,950 units, the company sold 192,115 units at home, reflecting a 36% year-on-year rise. Meanwhile, the company's sales in the overseas markets fell 31% on year during the month to 25,739 units.
Maruti's sales in the compact segment, which includes models such as Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR, rose over 43% on year in December to 78,704 units. Sales of mini cars--Alto and S-Presso--jumped nearly 92% on year during the month to 14,225 units. Sales of the company's only van model, Eeco, in December grew about 2% on year to 11,899 units.
In the utility vehicles segment, which includes models such as Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris, and XL6, the company's sales grew almost 33% on year to 73,818 units in December. Sales of the company's only light commercial vehicle, Super Carry, grew over 46% on year to 3,519 units during the month.
APR-DEC SALES
In the first nine month of the ongoing financial year, Maruti Suzuki sold 1.75 million units, up 7.2% on year. Of these, 1.44 mln units were sold in the domestic market, reflecting a near 4% year-on-year rise. The remaning 310,559 units were sold in the overseas markets, up 25.5% on year. Maruti sold 541,266 utility vehicles in the nine-month period, recording a 2.3% on-year growth.
For the September quarter, Maruti Suzuki reported a net profit of INR 32.93 billion on revenue of INR 421.01 billion. At 1347 IST, shares of the company traded flat at INR 16,695 on the National Stock Exchange. End
