India Ratings assigns AAA to PNB Housing Fin's INR-50-bln bk loan facilities

NEW DELHI – India Ratings and Research has assigned "AAA" rating with "stable" outlook to INR-50-bln bank loan facilities of PNB Housing Finance Ltd., the non-banking finance company informed the exchanges Monday. The rating agency also affirmed "AAA" rating for the company's non-convertible debentures worth INR 49.55 billion and for its INR-65-billion bank loan facilities.
India Ratings and Research expects the non-bank lender's credit cost to remain modest in the near-to-medium term, given tightened underwriting norms and the retail and granular nature of its loan book, the financier said in the filing, quoting the agency. "However, the performance of its affordable housing finance portfolio, which is at a nascent stage with high growth, remains a monitorable (parameter)," the agency added.
The lender had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 5.82 billion in the September quarter, up 24% on year. Shares of PNB Housing Finance closed 1.2% lower Monday at INR 932.80 on the National Stock Exhange. End
