IMD warns of very dense fog in Haryana, Chandigarh, west UP, Punjab till Wed

MUMBAI – Very dense fog conditions are likely to continue during the night and early morning hours in Haryana, Chandigarh, west Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab till Wednesday, over east Uttar Pradesh till Thursday, and over Odisha from Wednesday to Friday, the India Meteorological Department said.
Visibility in "very dense fog" conditions drops to 0–50 metres and in "dense fog" conditions, between 51 and 200 metres. Dense fog conditions are likely over most parts of northwest India, some parts of east and northeast India, and a few pockets of central India till Sunday, the weather department said.
The weather bureau has warned of cold day conditions over parts of Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday and Thursday, over Uttarakhand on Tuesday and Wednesday, over Bihar till Wednesday, west Uttar Pradesh till Tuesday and east Uttar Pradesh till Wednesday. A cold day occurs when the maximum temperature during the day is at least 4.5 degrees Celsius below normal.
Cold wave conditions are expected over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, west Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh till Tuesday, over Odisha till Wednesday, and over Himachal Pradesh from Thursday to Saturday, the weather department said.
Under the influence of a fresh western disturbance, light to moderate rainfall or snowfall is very likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and over Uttarakhand from Tuesday to Friday, the weather bureau said. The weather system is also likely to cause light to moderate rainfall over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarsh, and west Rajasthan till Tuesday and over west Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, the bureau said.
A gradual rise in minimum temperature by 3–4 degrees Celsius is likely in the next three days, after which it is seen falling in the same range in the subsequent four days, the department said. In central India, minimum temperatures are expected to gradually rise by 2–3 degrees Celsius in the next five days, it said,
No significant change in minimum temperature is likely over the next two days, and thereafter, a gradual rise by 2–3 degrees Celsius is seen in the subsequent days. In Jharkhand, no change in minimum temperature is seen in the next 24 hours, after which it could rise by 2–3 degrees Celsius in the subsequent six days, the department said.
In Gujarat, the minimum temperature is likely to remain the same for the next three days, after which a decrease by 2–3 degrees Celsius is expected in the subsequent four days, the weather bureau said. In north Maharashtra, no change in minimum temperature is expected in the next two days, and thereafter a fall by 2–3 degrees Celsius is seen in the subsequent five days.
No significant change in minimum temperature is likely over the rest of the country in the next seven days, the weather department said. End
