IRFC gives INR-98.21-bln term loan to Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor

--IRFC: Gave INR-98.21-bln term loan for Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor
NEW DELHI – Indian Railway Finance Corp. Ltd. extended a term loan of INR 98.21 billion to the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor for the latter to refinance its existing foreign currency debt availed from the World Bank. This will help safeguard the infrastructure company from exposure to exchange rate volatility and enhance predictability in debt servicing.
Like IRFC, the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor also comes under the administrative control of the Ministry of Railways. It is responsible for the development, operation and maintenance of dedicated freight corridors.
IRFC, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise, had reported net profit of INR 17.77 billion, up 10% on year, for the September quarter. Shares of the financier ended flat on Wednesday at INR 121.49 on the National Stock Exchange. End
