Infosys McCamish pays $30,000 to settle US case related to 2023 data breach

MUMBAI – Infosys Ltd.'s step-down subsidiary Infosys McCamish Systems paid $30,000 to the South Dakota Division of Insurance to settle a case related to a data breach at the company in 2023, according to an exchange filing by the information technology major late Tuesday. The South Dakota Division of Insurance alleged the company had failed to respond to requests post the data breach within 20 days of violation of the laws of the US state.
"IMS (Infosys McCamish Systems) has entered into a consent order to resolve this matter without any further action," the filing said. "The consent order specifically acknowledges that this is not an admission that IMS violated the Acts as listed above."
For the quarter ended September, Infosys reported a consolidated net profit of INR 73.64 billion on revenue of INR 444.90 billion. On Tuesday, shares of the company closed at INR 1,668.30 on the National Stock Exchange, down over 1%. End
