NTPC to set up JV with EDF Power in India, wholly-owned arm in Mauritius

MUMBAI – NTPC Ltd. Tuesday said its board has approved the formation of a 50:50 joint venture company in India with EDF Power Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. to develop pumped storage plants. The board has also approved the formation of a wholly owned subsidiary in Mauritius to develop power projects, including a floating solar photovoltaic project, in the island nation, the company said in an exchange filing.

 

The formation of the two companies is subject to the approval of the Ministry of Power, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management, and other statutory authorities as applicable, the company said.

 

NTPC had reported a net profit of INR 46.53 billion for the September quarter on a revenue of INR 391.67 billion. Tuesday, shares of the company ended 0.8% higher at INR 323.25 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
