--FSIB recommends Brajesh Kumar Singh for MD, CEO in Canara Bank

NEW DELHI – The Financial Services Institutions Bureau has recommended Brajesh Kumar Singh for the post of managing director and chief executive officer of Canara Bank. Singh is currently an executive director at Indian Bank.

The Financial Services Institutions Bureau interacted with 17 candidates on Monday for the position of managing director and chief executive officer of Canara Bank. "Keeping in view their performance in the interface, overall experience and the extant parameters, the bureau recommends Shri Brajesh Kumar Singh for the position of MD & CEO in Canara Bank," it said in a release.

The bureau had invited applications for the position of managing director and chief executive officer of Canara Bank in June and again in October. If approved by the government, Singh will replace K. Satyanarayana Raju. Raju, who held the position of managing director and chief executive officer since February 2023, will retire on Dec. 31.

The bank reported a 19% on-year increase in its net profit for the September quarter at INR 47.74 billion. Shares of Canara Bank Monday ended 1.2% higher at INR 150.30 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
