MUMBAI – Max Healthcare Institute Ltd. Thursday said its board has approved a proposal for acquisition of 100% stake in Yerawada Properties Pvt. Ltd. for INR 2 billion in two tranches. In the first tranche, the company shall acquire 100% of the class A equity shares representing 100% of the voting rights and around 50.22% of the economic interest in Yerawada Properties. Further, the company will acquire 100% class B equity shares in a phased manner over four years, the company said in an exchange filling.

 

The company's board has also approved the setting up of around 450-bed super speciality hospital on the land owned by Yerawada Properties at an aggregate investment of INR 10.20 billion. This investment is for the acquisition of 100% equity stake of Yerawada Properties, construction, equipment cost, stamp duty, registration charges, Max Healthcare said. The hospital is expected to be completed in the next four years. As on Sept. 30, the company's hospital network had a total capacity of around 5,200 beds. 

 

Max Healthcare Institute reported consolidated net profit of INR 4.91 billion for the September quarter on revenue of INR 21.35 billion. At 1201 IST, shares of the company were 1.2% higher at 1,043.60 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
