Indian cos' FDI in overseas JVs, arms slumps 45% MoM in Nov to $2.04 bln

MUMBAI – Foreign direct investment by Indian companies in their overseas joint ventures and subsidiaries fell nearly 45% on month to $2.04 billion in November, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India Tuesday. Outward foreign direct investment by Indian companies was $3.68 billion in October and $2.94 billion in November 2024.

 

Of the total overseas investments in November, companies invested $978.4 million as equity, significantly lower than $2.19 billion invested in the previous month. Companies committed $286.40 million in loans in November against $845.17 million in October.

 

Companies also invested $772.31 million through guarantees to their overseas arms and joint ventures in November, higher than $644.09 million a month ago. The data, based on online reporting by authorised dealer banks, is provisional and subject to change, the RBI said.  End
