NCLT admits Dharan Infra-EPC into insolvency on plea by Tata Cap Housing

NEW DELHI – The Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal Friday admitted Dharan Infra-EPC Ltd. into insolvency proceedings on a plea by Tata Capital Housing Finance Ltd. for unpaid dues of INR 280.49 million. The tribunal appointed Palak Swapnil Desai as the interim resolution professional of Dharan Infra-EPC to carry out functions as per the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.
Dharan Infra-EPC, which took construction finance facilities from Tata Capital Housing in 2018 and 2019, defaulted on payments. The loan account was classified as a non-performing asset on Feb. 7, 2023. However, Dharan Infra-EPC made some partial and irregular payments even after it was declared as a non-performing asset.
Dharan Infra-EPC is engaged in real estate construction, development, civil contracts, and other related activities. Friday, shares of Dharan Infra-EPC ended 3.5% higher at INR 0.30 on the National Stock Exchange. End
