--RBI: States to borrow INR 2.82 tln via bonds in Oct-Dec
MUMBAI – The Reserve Bank of India Friday released the indicative calendar of market borrowing by state governments and Union Territories for Oct-Dec. States will borrow a total of INR 2.82 trillion through dated securities during the quarter, the calendar showed. Bond market traders had expected a figure close to INR 3.3 trillion, in a band of INR 3.0 trillion to INR 3.5 trillion.
The auctions will take place on a weekly basis and the exact amount to be borrowed will be announced two to three days before the day of the auction, the RBI said. States will borrow around INR 861.60 billion in October, INR 931.59 billion in November, and INR 1.03 trillion in December, the release showed. End
