Govt issues T-bill calendar for Oct-Dec; to raise INR 2.47 trillion

MUMBAI – The government will raise INR 2.47 trillion by auctioning Treasury bills in Oct-Dec, it said in a release Friday. Of the total, the government will sell INR 910 billion of 91-day T-bills, INR 780 billion of 182-day T-bills, and INR 780 billion of 364-day T-bills. In the Oct-Dec period, the weekly borrowing through Treasury bills will be INR 190 billion through 13 weekly auctions, the release said.
"The Government of India, in consultation with Reserve Bank of India, will have the flexibility to modify the indicated amount and timing for auction of Treasury Bills depending upon the requirements, evolving market conditions and other relevant factors, after giving due notice to the market," the government said.
The calendar is subject to change depending on circumstances, such as intervening holidays. Such changes would be communicated through press releases, the government said. The government had issued a calendar of INR 2.69 trillion for T-bill issuance in Jul-Sept.
