India May outstanding NRI deposits $166.72 bln, up $11.93 bln from year ago

MUMBAI – Outstanding deposits by non-resident Indians rose to $166.72 billion at the end of May, up $11.93 billion from a year ago, according to provisional data released Wednesday by the Reserve Bank of India. The outstanding NRI deposits were at $165.43 billion a month ago and $154.78 billion a year ago.
Deposits under the Non-Resident (External) Rupee Account were $101.86 billion at the end of May, up from $99.90 billion a year ago and $101.11 billion a month ago. Outstanding deposits under the Foreign Currency Non-Resident (B) rose to $33.25 billion at the end of May from $33.08 billion a month ago. End
