Govt issues T-bill calendar for Jul-Sept; to raise INR 2.69 trillion

MUMBAI – The government will raise INR 2.69 trillion by auctioning Treasury bills in Jul-Sept, it said in a release on Friday. Of the total, the government will sell INR 1.26 trillion of 91-day T-bills, INR 780 billion of 182-day T-bills, and INR 650 billion of 364-day T-bills.
In the first four weeks of the Jul-Sept period, the weekly borrowing through Treasury bills will be INR 200 billion and will be INR 210.00 billion for the rest of the quarter, the release said.
"The Government of India, in consultation with Reserve Bank of India, will have the flexibility to modify the notified amount and timing for auction of Treasury Bills depending upon the requirements, evolving market conditions and other relevant factors, after giving due notice to the market," the government said.
The calendar is subject to change depending on circumstances, such as intervening holidays. Such changes would be communicated through press releases, the government said.
