--RBI: States to borrow INR 2.87 tln via bonds in Jul-Sept
NEW DELHI – The Reserve Bank of India Friday released the indicative calendar of market borrowings by state governments and Union Territories for Jul-Sept. States will borrow a total of INR 2.87 trillion through dated securities during the quarter, the calendar showed. Economists and bond market traders had expected a figure close to INR 3.0 trillion, in a band of INR 2.7 trillion to INR 3.2 trillion.
The auctions will take place on a weekly basis and the exact amount to be borrowed will be announced two to three days before the day of the auction, the RBI said. States will borrow around INR 1.03 trillion in July, INR 884.17 billion in August, and INR 953.79 billion in September, the release showed. End
