Govt updates rules on security issuances; no material change from 2018 norms

NEW DELHI – The government on Wednesday issued updated rules for the sale and issuance of government securities, including Treasury bills and cash management bills, the Reserve Bank of India said in a notification Thursday. There are no material changes in the notification from the one in effect since 2018. While phrasing and detailed explanation of some points have changed, the types of securities to be issued, the procedures for issuance and eligible investors remain the same.
The government borrowing calendars for dated securities for Apr-Sept and T-bills for Apr-Jun referred to the new rules.
"It just consolidated earlier orders," a finance ministry official said when asked about the updates in the new notification. End
