NEW DELHI – The government will raise INR 2.47 trillion through the auction of Treasury bills in Apr-Jun, it said in a release on Thursday. Of the total borrowing, the government will sell INR 1.17 trillion of 91-day T-bills, INR 650 billion of 182-day T-bills, and INR 650 billion of 364-day T-bills.
Weekly borrowing through issuance of Treasury bills in Apr-Jun is scheduled to be INR 190 billion for 13 weeks, the release said.
"The Government of India, in consultation with Reserve Bank of India, will have the flexibility to modify the notified amount and timing for auction of Treasury Bills depending upon the requirements, evolving market conditions and other relevant factors, after giving due notice to the market," the government said.
"Thus, the calendar is subject to change, if circumstances so warrant, including for reasons such as intervening holidays. Such changes, if any, will be communicated through press releases."
