MUMBAI – India's services trade surplus slightly narrowed in January to $18.02 billion from a record high of $19.08 billion in December, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India on Saturday.
Services exports rose 12.0% on year to $34.73 billion in January, while imports were up 12.6% on year at $16.71 billion. Service exports and imports were $36.86 billion and $17.78 billion, respectively, in December.
The central bank releases provisional monthly data on India's services trade. This data may undergo revision when the balance-of-payments data is released on a quarterly basis.
