--RBI : 'e-Kuber' system to remain open on Mar 30 to process govt transactions 

 

NEW DELHI – The Reserve Bank of India's 'e-Kuber' will be open on Mar. 30, a Sunday, for government transactions, the central bank notified Friday. The Office of the Controller General of Accounts recommended the move so that all receipts and payments in 2024-25 (Apr-Mar) could be accounted for within the financial year, the notification said.

 

"Accordingly, it has been decided that e-Kuber will be open for government transactions on Mar. 30, so that all the government transactions through integration with e-Kuber processed on Mar. 30 are accounted for and the cash balances of Central Government and state governments are arrived as on Mar. 30," the notification said. 

 

The e-Kuber platform is the core banking solution for government and other payments by the RBI, including bond auctions. The luggage files from banks for transferring the government transaction data would also be accepted by the e-Kuber system so that the transaction could be accounted on Mar. 30 itself, the notification said.  End
