MUMBAI – Indian companies raised $5.50 billion through external commercial borrowings in October, up from $4.84 billion in September, data released by the Reserve Bank of India Tuesday showed.
Indian companies raised $5.03 billion through the automatic route in October, and $470.00 million through the approval route, the data showed. Muthoot Finance Ltd. was the sole borrower through the approval route.
Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer Four Ltd. was the largest borrower through the automatic route in October, raising $664.96 million, followed by Arcelormittal Nippon Steel India Ltd., which raised $517 million.
