India Oct services trade surplus at record high of $17.09 bln

MUMBAI – India's services trade surplus in October rose to a record high of $17.09 billion in October, against $16.07 billion the previous month, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India on Friday. Both services imports and exports surged on year, also hitting record highs.

 

Services exports rose 22.3% on year to $34.31 billion in October, while imports were up 27.9% to $17.22 billion. Service exports and imports were at $32.58 billion and $16.51 billion in September, respectively.

 

The central bank releases provisional monthly data on India's services trade. This data may undergo revision when the balance-of-payments data is released on a quarterly basis.  End
