India Sept outstanding NRI deposits $161.62 bln, up $18.55 bln on year

NEW DELHI – Outstanding deposits by non-resident Indians rose to $161.62 billion at the end of September, up by $18.55 billion from a year ago, according to provisional data released by the Reserve Bank of India on Wednesday. The total outstanding NRI deposits at the end of August were $158.95 billion.
Deposits under the Non-Resident (External) Rupee Account at the end of September were $100.92 billion, up from $100.54 billion a month ago. Outstanding deposits under the Foreign Currency Non-Resident (B) rose to $31.08 billion at the end of September from $29.20 billion a month ago. End
