--RBI appoints Aviral Jain as new executive director from Oct 1
NEW DELHI – The Reserve Bank of India has appointed Aviral Jain as executive director with effect from Oct. 1, the central bank said in a release Friday. Jain has taken charge of the legal department and the premises department, the RBI said. He is also the first appellate authority under the Right to Information Act.
Prior to being promoted as executive director, Jain was a regional director for Maharashtra of the central bank. He has more than three decades' experience in the areas of supervision, currency management, foreign exchange regulation, and human resource management, the RBI said. A post-graduate in economics, Jain is also a certified associate of the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. End
