Overall vehicle despatches to dealerships in India rose slightly over 7% on year to 2.13 mln units in August, and exports were up nearly 14% on year at 433,771 units, according to data released today by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers. The overall vehicle sales volume was driven by healthy growth in two- and three-wheeler despatches on anticipation of strong demand during festivals.
