US natural gas stocks up 40 bcf in week ended Sept 4, says EIA

MUMBAI – Natural gas inventories in the US rose by 40 billion cubic feet to 3.25 trillion cubic feet in the week ended Sept. 4, according to the weekly report for the US Energy Information Administration. The inventory was 4.8% higher than the five-year average for this time of the year but down 2.4% compared with a year-ago level, the agency said.
The stocks were 148 billion cubic feet above the five-year average of 3.11 trillion cubic feet but 79 billion cubic feet less than last year, the report showed. Total working gas was within the five-year historical range.
Of the five regions, stocks in the East, Midwest, Mountain, and Pacific regions rose from Sept. 4. In the South Central region, the Nonsalt division registered a rise, while stocks in the Salt division saw a decline during the week.
At 0750 IST, the most-active November natural gas contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange was up 0.1% at $2.834 per million British thermal units. End
