NEW DELHI – Fino Payments Bank Ltd. Thursday said its average total deposits in August rose 12% to INR 28.21 billion from INR 25.09 billion a year ago. Its loan referral disbursals stood at INR 2.43 billion, up 367% from INR 520 million a year ago.

However, the lender's throughput declined to INR 37.70 billion, down 19% on year. Throughput is the total volume or value of transactions, both credits and debits, processed through an account, system, or payment network during a specific period.

The bank opened 243,216 new accounts in August, down 22% on year, it said. The small finance bank had 6.56 million digitally active customers at the end of August, up from 5.72 million a year ago. For the June quarter, the bank had posted a net loss of INR 137.20 million on total income of INR 3.07 billion. At 1418 IST, its shares were down nearly 1.5% at INR 139.68 apiece on the National Stock Exchange.  End
