--Care Ratings upgrades Apar Industries long term rating to AA from AA- 

MUMBAI – Care Ratings has upgraded Apar Industries Ltd.'s long-term bank facilities to AA from AA- with a stable outlook. The rating agency reaffirmed the A1+ rating for the company's short-term bank loans, according to an exchange filing. 

The rating agency has upgraded Apar Industries' rating due to the company's strong business profile and profitability growth across its conductors, cables, and speciality oils businesses. The agency also considered the successful completion of an INR-25-billion qualified institution placement, which strengthened the company's capital structure, the filing said. It also expects a significant improvement in the company's leverage. Care Ratings expects the company to report healthy operating profit due to its strong market position, diversified business profile, increasing share of premium products, and healthy order-book position, as per the filing.

As of Jun. 30, the company reported an order book that included conductor orders of INR 101.90 billion and cable orders of INR 19.25 billion. For the June quarter, Apar Industries reported a consolidated net profit of INR 4.67 billion on revenue of INR 65.91 billion. At 1248 IST, shares of the company were at INR 17,473 per share on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.1% from Wednesday.  End
