MUMBAI – The Reserve Bank of India plans to expand the range of currencies available through its FX-Retail platform, Reserve Bank of India Chief General Manager, Dimple Bhandia said on Wednesday at Global Fintech Festival 2026. The Japanese yen, New Zealand dollar, and Australian dollar are among the currencies planned to be added. The Canadian dollar and euro are also planned to be added to the platform.

 

The expansion is aimed at making retail foreign-exchange transactions more accessible through digital channels. A presentation at the event said Bharat Connect, in partnership with FX Retail by Clearing Corporation of India, was already enabling customers to access the euro, Pound Sterling, Swiss franc, United Arab Emirates dirham and Canadian dollar through participating apps.  End
