Global gold ETFs net inflow at $3.99 billion in week ended Aug 28, says WGC

MUMBAI – Global gold exchange-traded funds saw net inflows of $3.99 billion in the week ended Aug. 28, according to data released by the World Gold Council. Total inflows during the week were nearly $5.51 billion while outflows were $1.51 billion. In terms of region, Europe saw the highest net inflows at $2.71 billion, followed by North America at $804.1 million. The UK registered the highest net inflows at $1.10 billion, followed by the US at $759.7 million. Of the 20 reporting countries, six, including India, saw no fund flows, according to the data.

 

As of Aug. 28, global gold ETFs in reporting countries put together held 4,186.4 tonnes of the yellow metal, up 25.3 tonnes from the preceding week, the data showed. Gold ETFs in the US held 2,102.1 tonnes of the precious metal, the UK held 671.1 tonnes, Switzerland held 381.3 tonnes, and China held 291.6 tonnes, the council said.

 

As of Aug. 31, gold ETFs saw net inflows of $28.53 billion this year, with the highest being reported by China at $7.86 billion. The US reported a net inflow of $464 million, and the UK and Switzerland reported net inflows of $7.27 billion and $3.05 billion, respectively. Net inflows in India were at $4.22 billion in the same period.  End
