India, Thailand agree to push trade talks in time-bound manner

NEW DELHI – Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal Wednesday discussed the progress in the review of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations-India Trade in Goods Agreement and emphasised deeper bilateral engagement through the India-Thailand Joint Trade Committee in a time-bound manner, in a meeting with Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Suphajee Suthumpun here, according to a government release.
The two ministers also discussed ways to strengthen the India-Thailand economic partnership, with a focus on enhancing bilateral trade, investment, and business-to-business linkages, it said. They exchanged views on strengthening trade promotion activities in both countries to foster business networks and expand market opportunities for enterprises, as per the release.
Goyal and Suthumpun addressed a delegation of Thai businesses working in diverse areas, including space technology, cold-chain logistics, food-processing, and health and wellness. End
