MUMBAI – Persistent Systems Ltd.'s board late Wednesday approved the company's fundraising plans. The company can raise up to $1.25 billion through equity and debt securities, according to an exchange filing.

 

The company got the approval to raise up to $1.25 billion through debt securities and up to $450 million through equity shares. However, the overall fundraising, including both equity and debt, will not exceed $1.25 billion, the filing said.

 

For debt, the company will look at external commercial borrowing, non-convertible instruments, and other similar instruments. For equity, the company may issue equity shares or debt securities convertible into equity shares. The company is considering foreign currency convertible bonds, preferential issue, and qualified institutional placement as part of fund raising through equity.

 

For the June quarter, Persistent Systems had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 4.83 billion on revenues of INR 43.03 billion. Wednesday, its shares closed nearly 2% down at INR 5,690 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
