HYDERABAD – Public-sector iron ore mining major NMDC Ltd. has achieved 5% year-on-year growth in its iron ore sales at 3.58 million tonnes for August, a source told Informist. The company's iron ore production for the reporting month was up 20% on year at 4.07 million tonnes.

 

On a cumulative basis, the iron ore production for Apr-Aug was up 28% on year at 23.2 million tonnes while sales for these five months declined nearly 1% on year to 18.2 million tonnes.

 

NMDC has a target of achieving 60 million tonnes of production and a similar quantity of sales for the financial year 2026-27 (Apr-Mar).

 

For the June quarter, NMDC's net profit grew nearly 2% on year to INR 20.07 billion on revenues of INR 67.95 billion, up 2.5% on year. Tuesday, its shares ended at INR 85.69 on the National Stock Exchange, down nearly 3% from Monday.  End
