TVS Motor Aug sales up 21% YoY at 616,540 units; 2-wheeler EV sales up 137%

MUMBAI – TVS Motor Co. Ltd. Tuesday said it sold 616,540 units to dealerships in August, up 21% on year from 509,536 units sold a year ago. The company's two-wheeler sales rose 21% on year to 591,437 units last month, with domestic sales rising 18% to 433,796 units. The company's three-wheeler sales registered a growth of 34% on year to 25,103 units.
Its two-wheeler electric vehicle sales rose a whopping 137% on year to 59,453 units in August from 25,138 units in the year-ago period. TVS Motor's exports were up 29% on year at 174,452 units in August, driven by a similar quantum of growth in two-wheeler exports to 157,641 units.
At 1338 IST, shares of the company traded 1.8% lower at INR 4,260.90 on the National Stock Exchange. For the June quarter, TVS Motor reported a net profit of INR 11.74 billion on revenues of INR 138.96 billion. End
