UPI transactions rise to INR 29.82 tln in Aug; volume at 24.51 bln

NEW DELHI – The Unified Payments Interface transactions amount rose 20% on year to INR 29.82 trillion in August, data released by the National Payments Corp. of India Tuesday showed. This was slighly lower than the aggregate amount of UPI transactions reported in July.
In volume terms, UPI transactions grew 22% on year to 24.51 billion in August. In July, UPI transactions aggregated to INR 29.88 trillion, with a volume of 23.66 billion.
The average daily transaction count stood at 791 million in August, up from 763 million in July. The average daily transaction amount was INR 962.05 billion in August, down from INR 963.83 billion in July. End
