NEW DELHI – The wholesale sales of Bajaj Auto Ltd.'s two-wheelers in August were the highest since October 2020, mainly driven by a boost in its exports. Its overall automobile despatches also hit a record high in August as its exports strongly exceeded performance in the domestic markets on a year-on-year basis, according to data available with Informist.
Bajaj Auto sold 535,764 automobiles in August, up a little over 28% on year and almost 13% on month. This includes domestic despatches of 255,708 units, up 10% on year, and exports of 280,056 units, up a staggering 51%.
Its two-wheeler despatches in August stood at 443,748 units, up nearly 30% on year and 14% on month. Domestic sales of two-wheelers grew nearly 10% on year and nearly 22% on month to 201,898 units. Their two-wheeler exports jumped more than 53% on year and nearly 9% on month to a four-month high of 241,850 units.
Bajaj Auto's commercial vehicle wholesale sales grew 22% on year to 92,016 units for August, a record high, according to data available with Informist. Domestic commercial vehicle sales grew 11% on year to 53,810 units while exports grew 39% on year to 38,206 units.

The Pulsar maker sold a total of 2.06 million two-wheeler units between April and August, up 29% on year. The commercial vehicles sold by the company during this period were 393,673 units, up 28% on year. Total sales for this period stood at 2.45 million units, up 29% on year.
For the June quarter, the company reported a net profit of INR 29.83 billion on revenues of INR 172.44 billion. At 1015 IST, shares of Bajaj Auto traded at INR 12,443 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, up 2% from Monday. End
